In the 2018 financial year, HUBER+SUHNER increased net sales by 14.3 % year-on-year to CHF 885 million. Organically, i.e. adjusted for portfolio, currency and copper effects, growth was at a high 13.6 %. Compared to the previous year, order intake grew by 10.8 % to CHF 915 million.
The increase in both order intake and net sales was supported by a positive development in all three main markets – communication, transportation, and industrial – as well as in all main geographical regions.
In the communication market, the sales volume in the expansion of mobile communications networks increased once again, supported by strong growth in the data center submarket.
In the transportation market, sales growth continued in the second half of the year. Together with the very strong first half, this resulted in a significant net sales increase for the year as a whole, which was attributable to both railway and automotive submarkets.
The industrial market also developed dynamically and, as in the previous year, all submarkets grew.
