HUBER+SUHNER affected by attack on IT systems

Ad Hoc announcement pursuant to Art. 53 LR
14.12.2020 - 20:30 (CET)

The IT network of HUBER+SUHNER was the target of an attack with malware. The company immediately initiated security measures to prevent further damage. The investigations into the circumstances involving experts are running at full speed.

In the night from Sunday to Monday, 14 December 2020, the IT systems of HUBER+SUHNER became the target of a cyberattack. Internal monitoring services discovered that the IT network had been attacked by malware.

Immediately after the attack was detected, all workstations worldwide were deactivated by central IT in order to avert further possible damage. Because central systems are also affected, production has been interrupted in all plants worldwide.

The cooperation with the outsourcing partner for IT infrastructure and the involvement of further experts is running at full speed. It is not yet clear when and how quickly the systems can be restarted.

Investigations into the extent of the damage and intensive work to minimise the impact of the cyberattack are ongoing. The company will provide information as soon as new findings are available.
