With the constant rising demand for connectivity, data centers are ever-evolving to meet demands, with space being a critical factor when it comes to data center cable management. Structured solutions that use up a small amount of space are essential, without compromising performance, density, or ease of management.
When Australian colocation provider NEXTDC launched its B2 site, Australia’s first Tier IV-certified facility in Brisbane, it needed a solution that would ensure seamless connectivity and provide an effective method for structured cabling and patch cord management while maximising space.
NEXTDC turned to HUBER+SUHNER which designed and provided a customised IANOS® connectivity system. This front-facing solution offers 2,880 fiber connections and addresses common accessibility issues of other high-density solutions. With a split design of the IANOS chassis separating the left and right side, NEXTDC was able to access just one-half of the connectivity row without disrupting pre-installed business-critical fibers.
With this specially designed solution NEXTDC was able to streamline its fiber cable management to help ensure seamless connectivity. The B2 site is now fully operative with new structured cabling solutions and many more NEXTDC data centers in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth have been built with the structured cabling solutions provided by HUBER+SUHNER.
