HUBER+SUHNER is committed to the development of electric motorcycles and supports the ethec project to plan and implement a new type of electric motorcycle with LF products and technical support.
Ethec is a project of a young research team from Zurich, Switzerland, consisting of 13 mechanical engineers, an electrical engineer and industrial designers from ETH and the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK). Together, they have implemented their vision of urban mobility in a project to develop a new type of electric motorcycle.
With the technology developed especially for this e-bike, the recovery of braking energy is to become more efficient and thus open up new possibilities in the world of modern locomotion. The focus of the project is on range, cooling, operation, chassis and finally on the design, which reinterprets electric mobility on two wheels.
As a gold category sponsor HUBER+SUHNER supported the ethec team with expert know-how and provided different RADOX® cables as well as data bus, multicore and single lines. This covers the need for the entire cable harness in the bike as well as for powertrain, battery, Signal, sensor and data bus systems.
In the presence of the ethec team, the prototype of this new generation of motorcycles was presented to the public for the first time on Saturday, 30 June 2018 in Zurich.
